Michael Jackson, who was the King of Pop, died from a sudden cardiac arrest. The public may not know what Michael wore in the golden casket. Was he wearing a leather jacket or a skinny necktie and bespoke suit? White socks and black loafers? Or was he wearing a single sequined glove?
We may not know. However, we know that Michael was a great force of nature whose dress style, visual transformation and sense of fashion were as captivating as his dancing and singing.
In 1972, when Michael was 14 years old, he showed his sartorial wild streak with bold mixed patterns to the public.
In 1983, Michael’s “Thriller” video overwhelmed 80s. Especially his red peak-shouldered motorcycle jacket caused a national fashion fever for zipper-laden leather jackets.
In 1984, when he attended the American Music Awards, he wore a glittered military coat with Sergeant Pepper style.
There was no any other accessory in pop culture history enjoying as much great fame as Michael’s glove, which frequently appeared on stage throughout Michael’s career.
In 1987, Michael Jackson’s fiercely appearance was very evident. Almost everyone wore clothes from Rodarte to Alexander Wang like him.
In 1992, Michael Jackson’s fashion continued to the 90s. When Michael highlighted his patented crotch-grab with a gold lame thong worn over a pair of tight black pants, he shocked the public and drew more attention.
In 1995, before Michael Jackson came along, it was very difficult to show off the white socks for almost everybody. However, once Michael performed a magical feat which was known as the moonwalk with white socks and a tilted fedora, people knew that the white socks added much magic to his appearance.
